Environment/certifications
Environmental policy and certifications
At Asli, we focus greatly on protecting the environment and paying our contribution to a greener world. Therefore, we have taken several steps to promote sustainability in both our business and our products.
We are a member of The Business Environmental Performance Initiative (BEPI), which is a part of the organization of open and sustainable trade, Amfori. Our membership requires that we as a business commit to and implement a sustainability policy. With this policy we have implemented a number of initiatives, processes and certifications to help us protect the environment.
Asli works with one of the first CO2-neutral factories in our industry, which enables us to offer CO2-neutral products in the form of climate compensation. In addition, our certifications allow us to deliver products with the Swan Label, Oeko-Tex® and FSC® labels.
Our certifications and initiatives
The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI),
developed by Amfori, is an internationally recognized audit platform. It helps monitor all processes of a company's supply chain. BSCI continuously works on the development of individual manufacturers based on 13 specific parameters and a holistic approach to the individual business.
The Business Environmental Performance Initiative (BEPI)
is a service offered to importers, retailers, and brands committed to improving the environmental impact of factories and manufacturers worldwide. Practically, BEPI provides the framework to support all industries worldwide working to reduce their environmental impact.
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel
is one of the world's strictest environmental certifications. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel reviews the entire product journey from production to finished product. A product is able to obtain the Nordic Swan Ecolabel when it meets the label’s strict requirements, and all aspects of production are taken into consideration.
FSC®
is the world's most ambitious global certification for sustainable forestry, which ensures wood and paper from well-managed forests and other responsible sources. FSC® works to improve and protect both nature and people's conditions in the world's forest areas. Through forest certification, FSC® works to ensure good conditions for many important areas and people. FSC® promotes and protects biodiversity, water environments, indigenous peoples, and forest workers worldwide as well as promote democracy and education locally. In addition, FSC® ensures that the forest area remains intact, which prevents deforestation. This means that FSC® contributes to 14 of the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the green transition.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
is a product certification that ensures thorough testing of the product for harmful chemicals and thereby making sure it is harmless to human health. OEKO-TEX® is the world's leading health label for textiles and is known for the label 'Confidence in Textiles'. The Oeko-Tex® label is widely known today and can be found on many textiles.
Textile recycling
is gaining popularity and currency. Textiles are unraveled and undergo a long process before being wound into new yarn to use in the production of new textiles. Sorted waste such as bottles is melted down and turned into granulate, which is also used for, among other things, polyester. This enables your product to be produced from textiles consisting of recycled materials.
